More About Gelato GelatoConnect Logistics (GCL) is one of the three core modules of GelatoConnect, connecting production hubs, carriers, and ecommerce platforms through a data-driven, AI-enabled logistics network, digitizing and automating how products are priced, routed, and tracked. You’ll join a talented, forward-thinking team that believes in redefining what’s possible when software, logistics, and AI intersect. Together, we’re building the logistics platform of the future. The Role Reporting to the SVP of GelatoConnect Logistics, you will play a central role in building our next generation logistics platform. This is not a traditional logistics role, it’s a hybrid between commercial strategy and hands-on product execution . You’ll lead complex carrier negotiations while also building the data, systems, and automations that make those negotiations faster, smarter, and scalable. You’re both strategic and hands-on. Someone who identifies inefficiencies, designs solutions, and executes them. GCL is a platform business within Gelato. We’re not only improving how shipments move; we’re redefining how logistics services are designed, priced, and delivered through technology. You’ll help lead this transformation by expanding our carrier base, building the systems and automations that power it , and strengthening integrations across our global network, making GCL’s services indispensable to both Gelato’s internal teams and our external customers. What You’ll Be Doing Lead strategic carrier relationships: Negotiate rates, surcharges, and service terms across Gelato’s global network to deliver measurable cost savings and performance improvements. Own carrier strategy (the product way): Turn negotiation outcomes into scalable systems and automations that grow globally without adding headcount. Build and improve core systems: Design, launch, and continuously enhance tools for rating/pricing, carrier onboarding, contract management, and system monitoring. Drive scalable automation: Use SQL, Python, n8n/Zapier, Looker, BigQuery, and LLM-powered tools to eliminate manual work and improve accuracy and efficiency. Leverage data and AI: Analyze cost impacts, forecast changes, and provide insights that guide commercial decisions and pricing strategies. Collaborate cross-functionally : Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Sales to embed logistics automations into core systems and align on ROI and pricing models. Measure what matters: Define and own key metrics including landed cost per order, on-time delivery, % auto-routed, % auto-labeled, and cost saved per automation. Expand global partnerships : Work directly with carriers such as UPS, DHL, FedEx, Amazon Shipping, and regional leaders to grow coverage and ensure service quality. Innovate and experiment: Apply AI, data, and automation to simplify and modernize how logistics is managed across Gelato’s global network. Who You Are You are not a traditional logistics leader - you’re a builder, problem-solver, and operator who thrives in environments where technology is reshaping how things get done. You think in systems, act with speed, and learn new tools instinctively. Experienced in modern logistics : 5+ years in logistics, supply chain operations, or supplier management. Critically within a tech-enabled or data-driven environment. Proven negotiator: Demonstrated success in supplier or carrier negotiations, achieving measurable commercial outcomes. Builder and operator: You’ve personally built automations, data pipelines, or internal tools that drove tangible business impact. Hands-on problem solver: You take ownership, act fast, and fix inefficiencies rather than waiting for permission. Fluent with data and automation: Strong data fluency (SQL, Python) and experience with automation stacks like n8n or Zapier. Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.) to optimize workflows. (Note: this is not a software engineering role.) Analytical and data-driven: You rely on data to make decisions and use visualization tools to uncover insights. Commercially sharp: Skilled in modeling cost curves, leading negotiations, and translating complex commercial insights into scalable systems. High-ownership, high-tempo: You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, move quickly, learn constantly, and deliver with accountability.
