About the Job

We are going through massive, global Agile transformation and as a result we are rapidly expanding our Agile teams across EMEA and are looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is going from strength to strength, building and shaping our agile frameworks across our global teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Aggregate team Program Increment (PI) objectives into Program PI objectives.
  2. Participate in PI Planning readiness; preparation of Vision and backlogs via Pre and Post-planning.
  3. Establish PI Planning readiness (when no value stream level exists) and facilitates PI Planning.
  4. Manage and optimizes the flow of value through the program using various tools.
  5. Assist with execution and Feature completion.
  6. Drive continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt. Assists with economic decision making.
  7. Helps manage risks and dependencies.
  8. Attend System Demos and Solution Demos.
  9. Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters on lean-agile practices and methods.
  10. Facilitate the Agile Release Train Sync meeting.
  11. Assist Product Management with economic decision making, and by facilitating capability and Feature estimation by teams and then aggregate up to the Epic level.
  12. Encourage collaboration between System and Solution Architects, User Experience, and teams.
  13. Help ensure strategy and execution alignment by working with Agile Product Owners, Product Managers, and Stakeholders.
  14. Report status and support activities related to Program Portfolio Management and Release Management.
  15. Address critical bottlenecks by providing input on resourcing.
  16. Encourage and facilitates team level and program level continuous integration and communities of practice for Quality, Engineering, SAFe, Agile, and Lean.
Required Skills & Experience
  1. Experience as RTE, Product Owner, Program Manager or Agile Coach.
  2. SAFe Release Train Engineer certification preferred.
  3. Extensive experience managing software delivery; strong IT application development & leadership background preferred.
  4. Proven track record of delivering on large scale or multiple initiatives. Experience with all aspects of the delivery, including planning, features/user stories, design and delivery execution.
  5. Experience applying Lean Thinking and Systems Thinking in large organizations.
  6. Self-directed achiever who identifies opportunities to drive value and takes the lead.
  7. Excellent communication skills with a customer service oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  8. Experience with Lean Portfolio Management procedures and ceremonies up to the Portfolio level.
  9. Demonstrated excellence in leadership ability to engage and motivate in a high performance culture.
