Mechanical Deputy

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Deputy to join a large-scale industrial project in South Spain (coastal location).This is a 12-month assignment with an urgent start, offering the chance to play a key role supporting the Mechanical Lead and ensuring the mechanical scope is executed safely, efficiently, and to high technical standards.The RoleAs Mechanical Deputy , you will act as the right hand of the Mechanical Lead, coordinating mechanical activities on site, supervising contractors, and helping to solve technical issues quickly and pragmatically.You’ll work closely with construction, HSE, commissioning and project management teams to maintain quality, schedule, and discipline across the project.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Mechanical Lead with planning and supervision of mechanical worksReview drawings, isometrics, P&IDs and technical documentationOversee mechanical contractors on site and verify progressEnsure compliance with technical standards, quality requirements and project proceduresIdentify deviations and drive corrective actions (without overcomplicating things)Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure safe working practicesParticipate in testing, pre-commissioning and punch list activitiesPrepare technical reports and progress updatesProfileProven experience as Mechanical Deputy / Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer on industrial or large construction projectsBackground in process plants, energy, heavy industry, oil & gas, steel or similar environmentsComfortable working in multi-contractor, fast-paced environmentsStrong understanding of mechanical standards, QA/QC and commissioningProfessional level of English and SpanishEU right to work requiredLocation & ConditionsSouth Spain – coastal location with good connectionsApprox. 12-month durationWorking hours in line with Spanish legislationLocal hires preferred; rotation possible for EU-based candidates
