Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician Job ID: | Amazon UK Services Ltd.Responsibilities Demonstrate best practice on using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows the correct processesKeep track of equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when requiredSupervise technicians on shift to support their development and act as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance EngineersSolve issues in equipment to reduce downtime for operations so they can process packages as quickly as possibleSupport in finding ways to continually improve systems and standardise processes across the EU networkA day in the life — In every shift, you’ll be leading a team to ensure everyone has the equipment they need and that it’s running properly. This involves monitoring processes so that regulations and policies are followed and ensuring that preventative maintenance is carried out to increase equipment uptime.With everything you observe on your shifts, you’ll suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive and then implement those improvements across an EU-wide function. You’ll also be monitoring processes with tools like Scada to guarantee their performance, as well as working closely with your line manager to assist with admin tasks.This role is located at one of our operational sites. You’ll work shift patterns, which may include some weekends and nights. As you develop your experience within this exciting part of Amazon, you’ll be well-placed to progress into more senior roles.About the team — Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We’re a technically minded team guided by experienced leaders, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment across Amazon’s global fulfilment centre network.Qualifications Basic Qualifications A full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subjectRelevant experience in a technical leadership roleRelevant experience working in both electrical and mechanical disciplinesRelevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environmentsAdvanced proficiency in verbal and written EnglishPreferred Qualifications Experience working in a multi-contractor and multi-site working environmentUnderstanding of PLC based controls systems and statutory compliance requirementsExperience using computerised maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasksA degree preferably in a technical discipline or operationsAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
