Finance Manager, JCI Finance, JP Retail FinanceThe Amazon Japan Consumer business is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Retail Finance Team. “Finance” in Amazon has similarities to 経営企画室・経営戦略本部 in Japanese companies in which you own a wide variety of planning and analysis responsibilities. This role will support DEX/Speed in the Amazon.co.jp e-commerce business and will partner with business leaders to drive topline growth and profitability, with a keen focus on our customers.This role is responsible for the controllership, analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting for the responsible product family. It touches full P/L and will require understanding and strategizing selection, cost including end to end logistics options, and support breakthrough customer experience projects by leading financial analysts and partnering with senior business leaders. It is a unique opportunity with a broad scope to partner with teams critical to the customer experience for consumers in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead and develop a strong team, provide analytical support for executive decision‑making based on quantitative analyses, think strategically, and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesPartner with Directors and Senior Managers to drive strategic initiatives and long term successDevelop financial and operational plans to achieve long‑term business goalsConduct business reviews, evaluate progress toward business goals, and communicate progress to senior managementPerform analyses and develop financial frameworks to identify opportunities for business improvementReview and report monthly and quarterly financial and operational performance to business leadersMaintain a strong financial control environmentBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, engineering, statistics or business related or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance) experience6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making experience6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experienceEnglish business level proficiencyPreferred Qualifications8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience8+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experienceMBA, or CPAKnowledge of SQL/ETLExperience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsJapanese language skills is a plusOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
