Climatech Venture Capital Analyst

We're now looking for a Climatech Venture Capital Analyst to complement our Santander / InnoEnergy fund team and help build the future of sustainable energy. Location: Barcelona or Madrid, Spain. Role & Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Venture Capital, the Analyst will leverage appropriate tools and processes to deliver on the following: Investment Preparation & Review Prepare and review materials for Investment Committees (covering initial investments and follow-ons). Review investment documentation for accuracy and completeness. Data Management & Coordination Liaise with the investment team to ensure timely updates on portfolio companies. Upload and maintain required data in the equity management system. Support post-investment monitoring, portfolio management, and investor reporting, with a strong focus on data analytics and portfolio systems. Maintain KPI and performance dashboards. Technical & Market Analysis Assess technological differentiation, scalability potential, and barriers to entry across hardware and software-based climate technologies. Conduct ESG and impact analysis, contributing to sustainability initiatives and carbon-related metrics. Opportunity Origination Map and prioritize investment subthemes within the broader ClimateTech universe. Identify and originate new investment opportunities. The Person A collaborative team player with strong networking and intercultural skills, committed to building and maintaining relationships. Independent, trustworthy, and able to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Clear and effective communicator, both internally and externally. Curious, positive, and eager to learn new skills in venture capital and investment management. Experience engaging with founders and advisors on early-stage transactions is highly valued. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in investment management or venture capital. Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a scientific discipline (to enable technical understanding of investee technologies). Other fields may be considered if they provide relevant technical knowledge. Previous experience in ClimateTech or exposure to climate technology and infrastructure-related investments is a strong plus. Proven ability to liaise with founders and advisors on early-stage transactions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English . Strong IT skills and ability to coordinate with investment teams across multiple locations. Location: Preferably based in Madrid or Barcelona . Work Authorization: A valid work permit is required.
