What you will do: The Role’s Key Responsibilities and Tasks You will be leveraging the entire product development process from upstream ideation to downstream delivery of our ambitions. This role is for an experienced engineering people manager who understands the magic of software development processes at scale and appreciates the challenges of powering ultra-high volume transactional systems with an ambition of quasi-real-time response times and stellar reliability. As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Lead Engineer PHP in the Accommodationyou will be in charge of: Work with a top-notch tech stack such as PHP 8.2, MariaDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, ClickHouse, Kong, Docker, GCP, Grafana, Kibana, AI tools Actively participate in the product definition and ideation processes. Code solutions with the highest quality through good design, attention to detail and test quality. Work in a fully agile organisation, using Kanban practices to deliver business value continuously. Own and monitor the performance of product and technical OKRs. Help the team grow by mentoring more junior team members to continue improving, giving feedback and sharing your expertise. Here’s what you need to succeed: People Manager of a team of at least 2-3 years of experience Coaching and mentoring is a passion Strategic mindset and can-do attitude More than 7 years experience with PHP and knowledge of Java is of advantage Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals (data structures, concurrency, design patterns, algorithms). Great technical mindset to work in an environment where we promote the use of microservices platforms, clean code, SOLID principles and TDD. Strong data driven capabilities and that will allow you to face our business challenges. Knowledge of Cloud and of Continuous Delivery environments to help you deliver value quickly. Ability to analyse, challenge decisions constructively and provide creative solutions to complex problems, focusing on the outcome and not on the tasks. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants. Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows. AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity. Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
