We are a global engagement and marketing agency that creates human-centric touchpoints that unleash the power of people to deliver innovation and growth.Firm believers in the power of building community since 1987, we are helping brands, associations and not-for-profit organisations solve their key people challenges through our core expertise: Live & virtual events, Strategic & digital communications and Consulting & community solutions.We are an independently owned agency, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with a global presence of 60 offices in 31 countries.Job Description: We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Event Project Director based on Madrid or Barcelona to take a hands-on role in planning and leading various events including conferences, corporate events, incentives & any type of meeting for international & national clients.If you are open minded, willing to work with a multicultural environment and different clients all year long, Join OUR TEAMReporting to the Director of Operations, it’ll be the post holder's responsibility to ensure that all client’s needs are met and exceeded, right through from brief to final delivery.MCI has the inclusion as part of our DNA and we won’t exclude any candidate due to age, race or gender.Responsibilities Managing multiple events and clients simultaneouslyManaging, training and coaching project managers and coordinatorsLiaising with NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL clients to understand event briefs and objectives for eventsTaking end-to-end ownership of the event planning and management processLiaising with sales, creative & art design and production teams to manage and concreate the assets for the eventEnsuring that all events are planned and executed within the agreed budgetFinding and booking suitable event venues, contractors and suppliers in Spain and InternationallyRecruiting, managing and briefing event staff as required, including third-party suppliersAttending events and managing on-site team, ensuring we exceed the client’s briefLocation & Commitments Full-time role, with flexible timing and permitted home-office work max 3 days per weekRegular evenings and weekend work to attend eventsBased at our Barcelona or Madrid officeEssential Candidate Requirements Fluent in Spanish and English is a mustAt least 10 years of experience in the events industry as an event planner or manager – freelance experience also considered, most of the experience should be in SpainKnowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event managementProven results in planning or leading successful and profitable eventsExperience of negotiating deals with suppliers and contractorsExceptional interpersonal and communication skills – a true ‘people person’ happy to talk to anyone and everyoneStrong multi-tasker with experience of juggling numerous projects and deadlines and stress controlCreative thinking with high ability on executionExcellent knowledge of Spanish market , especially Barcelona and/or MadridDesirable A degree in an events management or planning subjectTeam management, with experience in providing training and mentorship to junior-level employeesAny other language is a plusMCI is where you can bring your true self to work and be proud of what you do.
