Overview The FPI-ICIQ 2025 Call invites outstanding postgraduate students worldwide to support participation in a training and research programme in chemistry, ultimately leading to a Doctoral Thesis. The Doctoral Thesis will be linked to a research project funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, la Agencia Estatal de Investigación, and the Fondo Social Europeo (FSE+) under the framework of the Call 2024 of Proyectos de Generación del Conocimiento.Program Highlights Conduct an individual research project under the direction of an internationally renowned Group Leader in a creative and stimulating scientific environment.Participate in the SHARP (Severo Ochoa PhD Training Programme), a personalised annual training programme focusing on technical and soft skills such as state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation, IP management, entrepreneurship, research integrity, grant applications and career development.Gain opportunities for short stays in distinguished international research institutions.Develop a professional career suitable for academia and industry.Application Process Applications are completed online via ICIQ’s Career Portal. Only online submissions are accepted; email or other means are ineligible. Attach the following documents in PDF format:Curriculum Vitae (academic background, work or research experience, publications, conferences, grants and awards).Personal statement (max 2 DIN A4 pages) describing academic background, research experience, career goals, preferred research group and reasons for interest in the project.Official transcripts of BSc and MSc studies. Master’s degree must be completed by November 2025.Letters of recommendation from two university professors or industry researchers.English proficiency evidence (B2 certificate, IELTS 6 or equivalent). English level is optional for Anglosphere applicants.Eligibility Criteria Applicants must be graduate students holding a master’s or equivalent degree in Physics, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related disciplines, completed by November 2025 and allowing admission to a Spanish PhD Programme by the time the fellowship starts (first quarter 2026).Evaluation and Selection The selection is based on academic record, scientific contributions, mobility and internationalisation, and adequacy of the candidate to research activities (up to 100 points).
