Overview Android Engineer role at Wallapop About Wallapop Wallapop is a Barcelona based scale‑up driving people to embrace a conscious consumption model. We operate in Spain, Italy and Portugal, bringing together the scale and trust of classifieds with marketplace convenience. Backed by top investors such as Accel, Insight Partners & Naver Corp, we aim to become the world’s best unique goods trading platform. The Challenge Modern & Pragmatic Stack: Kotlin‑first app using MVVM+UDF, Coroutines and Clean Code. All new features and the Design System are built with Jetpack Compose; legacy views are actively migrating. Modularization and DI: Project consists of 50+ feature modules. We use Dagger/Anvil for DI and are evaluating Metro to optimize build times. Quality first: 70% test coverage with snapshot and integration tests. Final release checks run E2E tests via Maestro and manual regression testing. Production Stability: Use crash and performance monitoring systems to ensure features run smoothly for millions of users. What You Will Do Ensure initiatives align with technical best practices and product goals using a product‑first mindset. Build and maintain feature modules owned by your team, acting as guardian of quality. Work with cross‑functional team (Product, Design, Backend) to define and implement new features. Act as a technical reference and share knowledge with other Android Engineers across the Tribe. Help improve architecture, tooling and performance practices. Mentor peers through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing. What We're Looking For Strong experience building top‑tier Android apps using Kotlin, Coroutines, Anvil and Compose. Excellent Computer Science foundation (data structures, algorithms, software design). Experience working in large modular codebases shared by multiple teams. Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills. Ability to balance technical trade‑offs with product impact. Strong communication skills and growth mindset. Plus (Optional) Experience implementing a Design System. Experience with Gradle build system and CI automation. Contributions to open‑source projects or developer communities. Passion for accessibility standards and inclusive design. Location & Work Model Barcelona based. Hybrid model with minimum 6 days per month in the office.
