Overview Join to apply for the Java Developer - Travel Things (Hybrid) role at eDreams ODIGEO . We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team in Barcelona or Milan (Hybrid) to create a one-stop-shop for customers to find travel options and enjoy post-booking service in our mobile app. In the Travel Things area, our teams are working on an ancillaries retail platform to elevate the customer experience across new touchpoints. What you will do The Java Developer in the Travel Things Team will be responsible for: Create distributed, scalable microservices platforms with high quality, clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns and TDD. Promote the use of microservices, clean code, SOLID principles and TDD across the team. Be independent when working on modules in your area of expertise, across all SDLC phases. Design and develop advanced systems and innovative solutions; share them with technical and non-technical audiences. Code with high quality, thorough design, and test quality; act as a reference for best practices within the team. Work in a fully agile organisation using Kanban to deliver business value continuously, iterating to increase value and efficiency. Actively participate in team ceremonies and events, as well as product definition and ideation processes. As part of a high-performing cross-functional team, you will collaborate with other engineers, product managers, architects, and UX designers. Here’s what you need to succeed: Deep understanding of software engineering concepts (OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, design/architecture patterns, databases, APIs, etc.). Experience with the full software development cycle, including deploying to production and testing (unit and integration), plus Cloud and Continuous Delivery environments. Strong data-driven capabilities, analytical skills, design-pattern skills and creativity to solve complex problems. Aim to deliver resilient, high-performing, well-dimensioned solutions. Strong focus on quality and a technical-excellence mindset. Excellent communication skills and openness to reach agreements for the benefit of the team and stakeholders. Ability to visually represent solutions in standard diagrams for both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisational skills; ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to meet deadlines in a changing environment. Good English level for a multicultural environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Applied AI Tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or similar). Experimentation mindset and curiosity to explore and integrate AI-driven solutions into development workflows. Ability to leverage AI tools to debug code and enhance productivity.
