Company ProfilenLighten is a European platform of distributed edge data centers, designed to meet the growing demand for AI, 5G, and hybrid cloud deployments.Aumente sus posibilidades de conseguir una entrevista leyendo la siguiente descripción general de este puesto antes de presentar su candidatura.As a rapidly expanding provider, we offer scalable colocation hubs and best-in-class energy solutions across Europe.Our innovative and sustainable approach to digital infrastructure ensures reliability, efficiency, and future-ready solutions for our clients.nLighten's current footprint is 34 data centers in 7 European countries, with the ambition to grow to 100 sites during the next 3-4 years.About the RoleWe are looking for a proactive and versatile Site Technician (m/f/d) to support the daily operations of our data center in Madrid.This hands‑on role is essential for ensuring uptime, supporting customer deployments, managing both physical infrastructure and connectivity operations, and maintaining smooth and secure facility performance.The ideal candidate will have a background in critical environments, strong technical knowledge across mechanical/electrical systems and IT connectivity, and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent service.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on critical systems, including power, cooling, and BMS.Monitor building management systems (BMS), identify anomalies or alarms, and take corrective actions.Support customer installations, cross‑connects, remote hands activities, and troubleshooting requests.Ensure proper cable management, accurate labelling, and clear documentation of all customer‑related activities.Coordinate and supervise third‑party vendors for repairs and scheduled maintenance.Request quotes and budgets for required work, and verify vendor completion reports.Maintain timely and accurate records of site activities, customer interventions, and incidents.Respond to urgent alarms and technical issues, both remotely and on‑site, as part of an on‑call rotation (one week at a time).Ensure strict adherence to operational, health & safety, and security procedures.Collaborate closely with the Data Center Lead and operations team to deliver seamless service.What We're Looking ForBackground in data centers or other critical environments such as maritime, offshore, oil & gas, or large‑scale facilities.Technical knowledge across both mechanical/electrical systems and IT connectivity operations.Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues under pressure.Basic understanding of IT networks, cabling standards, and connectivity troubleshooting.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and reporting.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Fluency in English or Spanish is required; knowledge of both languages is a strong advantage.Flexibility to participate in a rotating on‑call schedule.Why Join Us?High‑growth environment : Be part of an expanding team with opportunities to grow laterally and vertically.Impactful role : Play a key role in maintaining operational excellence across a growing data center network.Strategic influence : Work closely with facility management, ensuring seamless and secure operations.Background Check & ScreeningAll selected candidates will undergo a background check to ensure a safe workplace, protect company assets, and comply with regulations.Diversity & Inclusion StatementnLighten is an equal opportunity employer.
