What You’ll Do Manage on-premises infrastructure, including analysing requirements and backlogs, with RedHat sysadmin knowledge. Work on cloud migration projects : analyse requirements and backlogs, identify migration techniques, develop artifacts, execute processes, and prepare for ongoing support. Research and prototype new tools to enhance cloud platform capabilities; identify ways to reduce toil and mentor others to improve cloud outcomes through automation. Improve reliability, scalability and efficiency by collaborating with product engineers and site reliability engineers; address nonfunctional requirements such as data protection, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and efficiency across environments. Provide subject matter expertise for approved IaaS and PaaS services; respond to incidents and requests; build reusable deployment artifacts for cloud environments. Contribute to organizational learning practices, mentor others, and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing (e.g., KB articles, training, white papers). Participate in planning and optimization activities, including capacity, reliability, cost management and performance engineering. Collaborate with security specialists to design, implement and test security controls; ensure alignment with security guidance. Establish logging, monitoring and observability solutions, including design, implementation and operation. Optimize infrastructure integration in single-cloud, multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Communicate cloud service trade-offs to stakeholders with varying levels of cloud maturity; be transparent when the cloud is not the best solution. Collaborate with third-party suppliers as needed; engage vendor technical support when appropriate. Lead problem management activities, including post-mortem analysis, documented findings, and recommendations as part of root cause analysis. Support resilience activities such as DR testing, performance testing and tabletop exercises. Ensure activities are tracked and auditable in service enablement systems, with compliance to change and release processes. Respond to engineering requests promptly; provide guidance and best-practice materials; strive to meet service-level expectations. Take ownership of personal development and identify opportunities with line management. Work with limited guidance, independently or as part of a team, potentially with remote colleagues and third-party providers. Follow and improve standard operating procedures to industrialize approaches; advocate for simplification and workflow optimization. Who You Are Experience with cloud provider services : AWS and Azure (essential). DevOps tooling such as CI / CD (e.g., Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps / ADO, TeamCity, GitHub, GitLab). Infrastructure-as-code approaches and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Packer). Programming languages : Python; container management : Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, EKS; virtualization : VMware. Operating systems : Windows and Linux; scripting experience. Database technologies and caching : Postgres, Oracle, MSSQL, NoSQL, Redis; CDN. Identity and access management : Active Directory / Azure AD. Monitoring tools : CloudWatch, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana), Grafana, Loki. Cloud networking : subnets, route tables, security groups, VPCs, VPC peering, NACLS, VPN, Transit Gateways, egress cost optimization. Cloud security key management, encryption, and core security services / controls. Scalable architectures including APIs, microservices and PaaS; cost-aware cloud spending optimization; resilience (multi-AZ, multi-region, backup / recovery).
