AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver safety, security, and scalable capacity at optimal cost. Note: Amazon does not sponsor immigration for this role. Lump sum relocation stipends are provided to eligible candidates. Key job responsibilities Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix on components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents, and carry out routine repairs to contribute to service availability. Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues. Help interview, train, and onboard new team members. Physical and work environment requirements Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds. Working in cramped and/or elevated locations; bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching. Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day; ascending/descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Work in an industrial environment; shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (including nights and weekends). This role may be assigned to a facility still under development and may require travel to established locations for training until the site is fully operational. Essential requirements Ability to travel to or between data center locations as needed. Willingness to temporarily work at alternate sites during training or until the facility is operational. Travel frequency varies based on business needs and facility status. Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs. A day in the life Take ownership of technical issues, engaging other teams to drive resolution. Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude; address root causes and understand broader context. Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting. Act with initiative and contribute to process improvements. You will be required to work shift work that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. About the team Diverse experiences are valued. Benefits and compensation Base salary range: USA, MS, Canton - 26.00 - 47.00 USD hourly. Package includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location. Learn more about benefits at Basic and preferred qualifications Basic Qualifications Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience. 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience, including troubleshooting and repair. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a data center or other critical environment. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional/military IT experience (e.g., computer science, network engineering). Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+). Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems. Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience; experience training and onboarding new team members.
