If so, keep reading…What you will doAs a Principal Engineer, your mission will be to design and implement the data pipelines, microservices, and information architecture that power the intelligent agents we're building to fight disinformation and fake news.In this role, you will:- Serve as the main technical reference across the organization, making executive-level decisions to ensure that our data infrastructure aligns with and supports business objectives.- Mentor engineering teams and guide other technical leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.- Evaluate and adopt cutting-edge tools, methodologies, and architectures based on both market trends and internal needs, ensuring solutions with long-lasting, cross-project impact.- Define the orchestration and roadmap for the company’s entire data infrastructure, setting the foundation for scalable and reliable systems.- Shape the long-term technical vision and strategy for our data ecosystem, integrating it with broader business goals.- Drive strategic initiatives at the architectural level, establishing standards, governance policies, and best practices across the organization.What we're looking forExperience: +10 years building production-grade software in roles such as Data Engineer.Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.Language: Fluent in Spanish and English.Bonus if you have experience in Scale-ups.Technical Skills:- Strong proficiency in building API endpoints using Python (FastAPI) or TypeScript.- Expertise in SQL (MariaDB), NoSQL (MongoDB) and Columnar Databases- Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.).- Proven experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development.- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.- Understanding of data quality and governance best practices.- Knowledgeable about modern data architecture patterns (e.g., data mesh, medallion architecture...)- Familiar with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, AWS GLue, Azure Data Factory.What we offer- The opportunity to work on a meaningful project that makes a real impact by combating fake news and misinformation.- Full remote work, with the option to join a coworking space at our headquarters if you're based in Madrid or Vigo.- Offsites and team-building activities. xsgfvud - A positive work environment where your work truly matters.- Flexible working hours to help you work-life balance
