Let’s go Your mission At Bitpanda, we're building a powerful system that handles prices and risk management for various types of investments like stocks, crypto, ETFs, metals, and fiat currencies. You’ll help add new assets to our platform, work with new exchanges, and create tools like price charts and systems for crypto products with leverage. This is a key role where you'll help us build the technology that makes trading and investing in different assets fast, reliable, and easy to use for everyone. What you’ll do Drive core technical decisions that shape our architecture, engineering practices, and long-term team vision Build high-performance, scalable backend systems using Python that power Bitpanda’s core trading infrastructure Design and maintain clean, testable, and maintainable code across a robust microservice ecosystem Lead the evolution of our event-driven architecture, helping scale systems for future growth Tackle complex, cross-domain challenges in pricing, hedging, and asset management across crypto, stocks, metals, and more Work in a high-impact environment where your code directly supports critical business functions across the company Who you are Strong hands on Python development experience in product-driven environments, building real-world, scalable systems that solve big problems A deep understanding of RESTful APIs and websockets, with the ability to design fast, reliable, and clean APIs using FastAPI Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, always keeping performance and scalability top of mind Strong leadership skills to drive technical initiatives, influence the team’s direction, and guide key architectural decisions Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, and message brokers like Kafka or ZeroMQ — you know how to keep data flowing seamlessly Bonus points if you’ve worked with AWS, have an interest in crypto, blockchain, or stock markets What’s in it for you Hybrid-working model with 25-Work From Anywhere days* Competitive total compensation package including participation in our stock option plan Market-leading benefits programs shaped by our Time & Flexibility policies* Company-wide and team events — both in-person and virtually Bitpanda swag to keep you living the brand.
