Senior Statistician

OXON is seeking a Senior Statistician to join the Data Analytics & HEOR department , working on the analysis of medical real‑world data within observational research programmes.The role involves contributing to a range of study designs, including field, database and hybrid observational studies, as well as complex, multidimensional datasets. Depending on the project, this may include the application of advanced analytical approaches.If you are motivated by rigorous analysis, methodological development and the opportunity to apply statistics to meaningful medical research, OXON offers a collaborative and intellectually engaging environment where your work has a clear and tangible impact.How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV + a cover letter outlining their relevant experience to , including “Senior Statistician” in the subject line.JOB DESCRIPTION As a Senior Statistician , you will take scientific responsibility for the statistical aspects of real‑world studies, contributing across the full study lifecycle, from design and analysis planning to advanced modelling, interpretation and publication.You will work closely with epidemiologists, clinicians, data management and operations teams, and engage directly with clients and external partners as required, combining advanced statistical work with scientific leadership.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and contribute to the statistical design and analysis of pharmacoepidemiological and real‑world evidence studies.Develop and review Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs).Perform advanced statistical analyses and modelling using real‑world and health‑related data.Work with large and complex datasets, including multi‑source and “big data” environments.Collaborate closely with epidemiologists, clinicians, data managers, operations and software development teams.Contribute to scientific outputs, including study reports, abstracts, posters and peer‑reviewed publications.Provide methodological guidance and mentorship to junior statisticians.Participate in proposal development, bid defences and client meetings.Contribute to innovation, including the application of new methods, AI and machine learning approaches where appropriate.REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL:BSc, MSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences or a related discipline requiring advanced data analysis.At least 10 years of experience as a statistician or biostatistician in clinical research, real‑world evidence or related fields.Strong experience with one or more statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, STATA, R).Solid understanding of epidemiology and observational study designs.Experience analysing health‑related and real‑world data.Fluency in written English.DESIRABLE:Experience working in a CRO, pharmaceutical company or research organisation.Experience with large or complex datasets, multiple data sources or “big data”.Experience contributing to scientific publications or external communications.WE OFFER Full‑time & permanent contract.A competitive salary and benefits package.Flexible timetable and remote work options.Opportunities for professional development and growth.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.COMPANY DESCRIPTION OXON is a full service global scientific/operational service provider specialising in multi‑country field, database and hybrid observational studies, and pragmatic trials, for safety, market access/HEOR and drug development.
