Purpose
Supporting External Affairs and Communication team in the framework of PMI's policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines, contributing to reach key business objectives, ensuring procedural compliance, availability, accuracy, and timeliness.
Develop and implement integrated communications strategies and the external communication plan. Implement all initiatives across paid, earned, shared and owned channels to support the achievement of key business objectives, and to protect and improve PMI’s reputation in the Canary Islands. Lead brand communication for media channels and digital campaigns.
Principal Accountabilities

Track and constructively engage in all tobacco related legislations and regulations with stress on taxation, marketing freedom and product regulation. Contribute to the execution of PMI strategic fiscal, regulatory and networking activities.
Preparation of background documents, analyses, and reports. Mapping new stakeholders for reaching key business objectives of External Affairs department.
Identify and build relationships with key non-governmental external stakeholders including industry, business groups, think tanks and international organizations to jointly advance areas of common interest. Engage with tobacco roundtable and retailers.
Manage the contents and the reputation of the company in social media. Develop and build the strategy of the social profile of the General Manager with the objective to increase and reinforce the company positioning. Set the KPIs and monitor them.
Media and Social media monitoring & analysis to detect and decide with autonomy proper approach to potential issues to preserve company´s reputation, based on the communication plan.
Work closely with the functional lead for next generation products and smoke free future to develop a proactive communication plan that aligns with regional and global communication strategies and market needs. Deliver and implement the toolbox messages and assets across the projects.
Negotiate, implement and analyse local digital programmatic campaigns as well as participate in the national strategy with the Digital Cluster team. Negotiate with local media the advertising spaces.
Lead communication consultants/PR agencies and consultants in a digital platform and contemporary communication channels, as well as assessing their recommendations.
Implement the plan in media with branded and unbranded campaigns. Implement and follow up the programmatic campaigns and the amplification.
Develop opportunities for credibility, categories understanding, vision and credibility, science and regulation.
Maintain relationship with stakeholders and business partners on request, and clearly identifying the framework of engagement with confidentiality, following PMI's corporate policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Representing the Company in public events on request, following PMI's corporate policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Who we’re looking for

Preferably degree in business, economic or political sciences.
At least 5-year work experience in similar role. Experience in dealing with external stakeholders, regulators, and government officials.
Professional written and spoken English and Spanish
Good communication skills, accuracy, reliability, confidentiality, ability to work independently.
Proficient Office Skills
