You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our cloud-based RFID management platform, ensuring scalable and reliable backend services for our global customer base. This role offers the opportunity to learn and contribute to a critical system while helping to reduce single points of failure.**Primary Responsibilities*** Develop and maintain backend services for our cloud platform in Java* Collaborate with the Lead Backend Engineer to learn existing system architecture and best practices* Implement new backend features and API endpoints as required* Optimize database queries and improve system performance* Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues in production environments* Participate in system design discussions and architecture decisions* Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems* Support integration with RFID hardware and third-party services**Your Experience*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field* 6+ years of proven Java applications developments* Strong proficiency in Java backend programming* Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization* Strong knowledge ofRESTful API design and development* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization* Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems* Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development practices* Knowledge of RFID technology or IoT systems is a plus* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively* Fluent in English (Spanish is a big advantage)**Our Profile*** Company that designs and manufactures worldwide RFID equipment for the retail sector* Flexible working hours* 1-2 days per week working from home possibility* Young and dynamic work environment* New 4000sqm corporate building next to Westfield La Maquinista* Specialty coffee, tea and table tennis* Support for online training programs* Ability to grow in a fast-paced international company#LI-JM1#LI-HybridNovanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
