Job Description As an Engineering Manager in the Core Gameplay area you will lead cross‑functional teams of engineers building systems that enhance gameplay, adjust difficulty, and create levels for millions of players of Candy Crush Saga. Our tools are primarily based on (but not limited to) C++, Java, and Web technologies. We value collaboration, agility, and humility. Specific Responsibilities Be a line manager for the engineers in your teams, taking complete ownership of the employee lifecycle and driving people‑related processes. Lead, develop, mentor, and grow engineering specialists reporting to you. Manage efficient throughput of your teams and individual engineers, championing a culture of continuous improvement. Help translate product vision into clear delivery plans and define ways of working. Collaborate with tech and product leadership to ensure teams have the right tools, skills, and processes; build and nurturerelationships across product areas and other King departments; support teams in delivering value to users. Be accountable for the technical choices made by your teams. Contribute to the development and execution of the Tech Strategy and support leadership teams. Leadership Skills Track record of building and leading successful engineering teams as an empathetic leader passionate about people and their success. Growth mindset and flexibility with a solution‑oriented, problem‑solving mentality and a can‑do attitude. Excellent communication, mentoring, and feedback skills. Ability to guide engineering teams toward making solid technical decisions. Proven teamwork and stakeholder management skills. Experience leading and participating in cross‑area and company‑wide initiatives with stakeholders from various functions. Technical Scope Professional background in software engineering (previous engineering experience). Practical knowledge and experience with agile practices. Solid knowledge of modern software delivery techniques. Bonus Skills Experience developing solutions through external providers.
