Product Assurance Engineer - IRIS2Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.ActivitiesSupport to the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the areas of Product and Quality Assurance disciplinesMonitor and control all the technical and management aspects of the Quality Assurance disciplines during spacecraft, subsystem, unit and sub-assembly design, manufacturing and test phasesOversee and control the work carried out by manufacturer to ensure the adequate implementation of IRIS2 product/quality assurance requirements throughout the programProvide programme office with a high level of spacecraft technical product assurance expertise for all activities associated with the design, development, manufacturing and tests of spacecraftsMonitor the PA activities during the spacecraft, platform and payload assembly, integration and test activities at the contractor facilitiesParticipate in project design and test reviews at multiple levels (system, satellite and unit)Interact with the end-to-end system development team to ensure requirements traceability and associated verification planCarry out the hardware & software acceptance reviews in coordination with the programme officeManage the non-conformance control system, assess technical residual risks associated to the non-conformances and waivers, and decide on their acceptabilityResponsibilitiesPreparation and participation in unit, subsystem and system design, manufacturing and testing review meetingsPreparation and participation in Mandatory Inspection Points at unit, subsystem and satellite levelsPreparation and participation in Parts, Materials and Processes Control BoardsPreparation and participation in programme audits and launch campaign activitiesPreparation and participation in the In Orbit Test CampaignPreparation of weekly reports of activitiesProvide 24/7 on‑call support during satellite system and Payload/Platform testingQualificationsMaster’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field10+ years of experience in a similar position with hands‑on experience or exposure in satellite procurement, satellite equipment manufacturing or payload/platform in‑orbit operations in GEO and/or LEOExperience managing large EU and ESA projectsDeep knowledge of space qualified parts, materials and processes for Payload and Platform equipmentDeep knowledge of space product and quality assurance standards and equipment inspection techniquesExperience with reliability engineering activities: reliability prediction analysis, FMECA, parts stress analysis, work case analysis, critical item control, availability and outage analysisDemonstrated skills in manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing oversight at unit, subsystem and satellite levelsStrong knowledge of software development environmentsRecommendableHighly collaborative individual, able to build relationships internally and externally across all levels and functionsCapacity to deal with complex situations with assertiveness and calm judgmentOther RequirementsNative to an EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance processFluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in any other European language is an assetLocationMadrid, Community of Madrid, SpainAt Hispasat we promote equal opportunities and an inclusive environment.
