The Aviation team contributes to a more sustainable and resilient future by working closely with operators, developers, investors, airlines and regulators. We develop both long‑term strategic master plans and mid‑term capital investment plans for airports worldwide.OpportunityYou will work on projects for small regional airports or the largest hubs in the world, in airport planning and design, and may lead projects and teams.As an Airport Planner at Arup, you willContribute to the development of airport layouts and designs, including terminals, airfield and landside facilities.Participate in the planning and design of airfield layouts and support overall airport master‑planning initiatives.Perform demand/capacity analysis for runway, stands and terminals.Conduct simulation studies for both passenger and aircraft flows to optimise operational efficiency and capacity and enhance user experience.Assist in the development of facilities requirements for various airport components.Manage and deliver tasks and projects.Support the management and training of junior staff members.Engage in business development activities across multiple areas of airport planning.Be the client interface; represent Arup in internal and external meetings.QualificationsAerospace Engineering degree, Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering or similar.2–4 years of experience in airport terminal design.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Modeling software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.High level of English and Spanish (C1) is required.Strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and business acumen.Experience with the following tools is a plus:Airport simulation modelling software such as CAST by ARC or AirTOP by Transoft.Airport geometric design software such as Aviplan by Transoft or similar.Python or other programming languages.Power BI, data modelling and data analytics skills.Rhino/Grasshopper software.ConditionsImmediate incorporation.How to applyRegister your updated CV and a cover letter in English.BenefitsProfessional growth & development: continuous learning opportunities, training programmes and mentorship.Global opportunities: collaborate with colleagues worldwide and explore assignments at other Arup offices.Financial well‑being & ownership: competitive salary and benefits package plus profit‑sharing programme.Work‑life balance: hybrid working model and flexible arrangements.Well‑being and culture: sports subsidies, social activities and healthy work‑life balance initiatives; diverse and inclusive culture.Arup is recognised as one of the best companies to work for in Spain in 2025 by Actualidad Económica and Forbes magazine.
