Statutory Leader

Overview The South Europe Statutory Leader is responsible for providing key controllership leadership and guidance to the finance and non-finance teams for the Region.Role & Responsibilities Audit requirements Manage internal and external audit works for your Region to ensure on-time delivery of the statutory requirements, execution of the audit plan against the regulatory deadlinesUtilize technical knowledge to discuss technical matters with the audit teamCoordinate all deliverables with the relevant owners & responsible parties to ensure documentation is provided to high quality and on timeEnsure that any findings are resolved with appropriate owners (Stat, OTR Finance, FP&A, HR, Tax, Legal, other functions) for both US GAAP and local statutory purposesLook for opportunities to improve the audit process, including identifying opportunities to reduce stat to GAAP adjustments by addressing the root causeDirect and guide the business organization with the required disclosures and notes for statutory filings using technical knowledge and expertiseSupport the compilation of local supplementary statistical filingsTransactional tax Oversee the compliance of the transactional tax filings required for your region e.g. VAT and WHTTechnical controllership Ensure compliance with GE policies. Facilitate implementations of new rules and new tools impacting finance reportingReview processes to improve overall efficiency, particularly LEAN simplification initiativesCollaborate with the Vernova Hub and Genpact teams to ensure the compliance and integrity of the accounts, and harmonisation of the accounting treatmentTeam leadership Responsible for the oversight of a team that will support the execution of the statutory goalsDrive and encourage process improvements and legal entities simplificationCollaborate with in-country service providers to identify opportunities to reduce statutory costs and manage risksQualifications A degree in accounting or finance and/or a recognized accounting qualificationProven years of experience in auditing, accounting, or financial reporting – ideally over 8 years within this areaManaging statutory audits/project management experience – ideally over 5 years within this areaDemonstrated proficiency of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP/local accounting standards and legal requirements)Must be fluent in EnglishHighly proficient use of MS Office, SAP experience preferableDesired Characteristics Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner to multiple levels of the organization and other functionsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsPrevious experience with tax aspects (direct and indirect)Established project management skills, ability to execute according to timelinesStrong analytical skills - able to link financial results to operational performance driversAdaptable/flexible - open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situationsIntegrity - high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with othersProactive and determined, committed to delivering high-quality workAdditional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: NoSeniority level DirectorEmployment type Full-timeJob function OtherIndustries Electric Power Generation#J-18808-Ljbffr
