Base pay range $100.00/hr - $100.00/hr We are expanding platforms relied upon by thousands of students and teams worldwide: TimeBack: An educational platform driving Alpha School's 2-hour learning methodology (producing 99th percentile test outcomes). Incept: A content generation platform delivering all customized educational materials for several learning applications deployed at Alpha School. Crossover: An AI-driven hiring platform managing tens of thousands of candidate applications monthly, supporting recruitment for schools and enterprises around the globe. You will take ownership of one platform and dedicate the majority of your time to constructing the most intricate components of the codebase with a compact team (3-5 senior engineers, no junior members). The architectural choices you make will dictate whether other teams can quickly build new applications, integrate seamlessly, and deliver value to students. Correct decisions unlock substantial leverage. Poor decisions result in integration chaos and erode velocity across several teams. You design, build, and operate your systems. You set quality benchmarks and technical patterns for your platform. Our approach is specification-driven: design precedes implementation, planning comes before building. You will have significant autonomy, no committees, no approval boards. You work within a small, cohesive team where accountability for what you deliver is direct. What You Will Be Doing Technical Leadership: Drive strategic architectural choices and define technical patterns that guide the team's execution. AI Leadership: Champion the integration of emerging AI workflows and produce high-value playbooks. Implementation: Develop the complex, mission-critical sections of the codebase in collaboration with your team. Quality Reviews: Verify adherence to established patterns and uphold quality standards across the team. What You Won’t Be Doing Serving as an architect detached from actual implementation Spending excessive time in recurring meetings Managing personnel (this role centers on technical leadership, not people management) Maintaining legacy codebases or supporting internal IT infrastructure Basic Requirements A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience delivering software products A minimum of 3 years in a lead engineer role (conducting code reviews for others) or architect position (driving critical technical decisions) Proven experience with platform-level products where your APIs were consumed by other teams Strong involvement with AI tools, continuously experimenting and exploring new capabilities Lead Software Architect key responsibilities A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience delivering software products A minimum of 3 years in a lead engineer role (conducting code reviews for others) or architect position (driving critical technical decisions) Proven experience with platform-level products where your APIs were consumed by other teams Strong involvement with AI tools, continuously experimenting and exploring new capabilities About LearnWith.AI LearnWith.AI is an edtech startup that leverages AI and subject matter experts to cultivate a new way of learning.
