SAP S/4HANA Development and Integration Team Lead

We are looking for a motivated SAP S/4HANA Development and Integration Team Lead (m/f/d) to play a key role in our newly established SAP Center in Madrid.In this role, you will lead and grow our global SAP and integration capability, covering ABAP, SAP BTP extensions, Fiori development, EDI, system integration, and API-based architecture. You will define technical standards for solution extensibility and integration in our global S/4HANA template, ensuring Clean Core and scalable, future-proof architecture.This is a strategic leadership position combining technical depth with team leadership and offers the opportunity to directly shape how Liebherr builds and integrates solutions across SAP and non-SAP platforms globally.Creating passion: your responsibilitiesTake ownership of the Development and Integration domain in our global S/4HANA greenfield program, ensuring alignment with solution architects, stream leads and enterprise architecture.Lead and coordinate SAP development activities across ABAP, SAP BTP, Fiori/UI5, CDS/RAP, and custom extensions, ensuring maintainable solution designs.Define and maintain technical architecture and extensibility guidelines for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, ensuring alignment with Clean Core principles.Oversee the full development and integration lifecycle, including requirements intake, solution design, backlog and sprint planning, code reviews, test strategy alignment and handover to Change and Release management.Establish and enforce global development and integration standards, coding conventions, security guidelines, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP and BTP environments.Work closely with functional stream leads, enterprise architects and business process owners to ensure extensibility and integration support business goals without compromising Clean Core.Ensure system stability, performance and reliability across custom developments, interfaces, APIs, and integration flows, proactively identifying and resolving architectural risks.Build a high-performing, multicultural development and integration team, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across global locationsEnsure development and integration changes follow release and transport governance, and that architecture and solution documentation are maintained using Jira and Confluence.Contributing your strengths: your qualificationsYou are an experienced technical leader with a strong background in SAP development and system integration, capable of leading teams, setting direction and ensuring delivery excellence in complex environments.7+ years of experience in SAP development and integration, including SAP S/4HANA programs, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role. Experience leading multi-disciplinary development teams is essential.Strong hands-on knowledge of ABAP OO, CDS/RAP, Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extension suite, Cloud Integration (CPI), API and event‑driven integration patterns, and DevOps and automated testing practices. Experience with EDI frameworks is a plus.Experienced in strategic planning, backlog prioritization, sprint management, and solution governance, ensuring architecture decisions align with business strategy.Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages (e.g., German) are an advantage.Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical teams across cultures and geographies.Willingness to travel international (up to 30%) as required by project work.Our commitment to you: your benefitsAt Liebherr, we believe people are at the heart of our success.
