Release Quality Engineer

Release Quality Engineer Join EPAM Systems as a Release Quality Engineer and help our client – one of the biggest hedge funds worldwide – deliver high‑quality software on time. You will work with a distributed team of about 100 engineers across the US and Spain. A Release Operator plays a crucial role in managing the software release process, ensuring that product launches occur on time and adhere to quality standards. This position involves executing release runbooks, performing validation steps, and facilitating coordination among various teams. Responsibilities Run release verification and validation runbooks and processes. Facilitate communication with stakeholders to keep everyone informed and engaged throughout the release process; coordinate cross‑functional teams for timely releases. Maintain clear documentation of release processes and procedures; produce deployment runbooks and implementation plans. Handle any issues that arise during the release process, including diagnosing functional and performance problems based on the knowledge base. Capture release metrics and identify patterns for improving the release processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Coordinate the integration of changes, go/no‑go decisions for releases, and verify releases before deployment; conduct release readiness and business go/no‑go processes. Identify and manage risks that may affect the release scope and schedule. Requirements Proven experience of over 3 years as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Release Operator, or in a similar role. Experience with QA or Release management tools and practices. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience in testing, including black‑box/UI testing; coding and white‑box testing skills are strongly preferred. Ability to track multiple streams and deadlines. Hands‑on experience with CI/CD build systems such as Gitlab, Azure DevOps, Argo CD, etc. Knowledge of observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, etc. Experience working in cloud, containerization tools, and technologies (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, etc.). Team‑oriented mindset and ability to collaborate closely with developers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills in high‑pressure environments. Strong written and verbal communication and coordination skills.
