Zappos is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Merchandising team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of brands through the ordering of new products and analyzing/managing stock levels. You are the business owner for the brands in your category and will engage directly with internal partners to effectively optimize assortments and execute department wide initiatives.Key job responsibilitiesIdentify trends by conducting thorough research and a customer mindset.Partner with suppliers in order to have a consistent in stock rate of key items at the right time for customer demand.Understands the input levers to drive improved customer experience for assigned category.Integrates key metrics with broader business metrics to deliver optimal customer experience.Understands organizational structure and company priorities. Champions ideas across the team and is seen as a resource and expert within areas of responsibility.Takes a forward-thinking, holistic, and data driven approach to maximize profitability; over communicates with stakeholders on strategies.Understands how to gather and analyze internal and competitor merchandise data – Possesses knowledge of ABC categorization and analysis.Understands the needs and wants of the different consumer demographics, product segmentation, key selling weeks, and seasonal demand.A day in the lifeIn this role the ideal candidate will be a forward thinker, always anticipating possible future product offerings by conducting thorough research about what customers are looking for next and the fashion trends that are coming up.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree.5+ years in Buying, Planning or other related Merchandising roles.Preferred QualificationsExperience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market.
