Electronics Engineer position in Medical Physics Group Open Position Electronics Engineer position in Medical Physics Group Opening Date: September 19, 2025Closing Date: Until Filled Ref: IFAE2025/32_MEDICALPHYSICS_SO_Engineer The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). IFAE carries out research in high energy physics, astroparticle physics and cosmology, and develops instrumentation for projects including detector technology, pixel detectors, telescope cameras, and medical imaging detectors. The Engineering department designs and develops mechanics, electronics and software for project instrumentation. Electronics Engineer is needed to work in the design, production, debugging and commissioning of PCBs for different IFAE projects. Responsibilities Design, production, debugging and commissioning of PCBs for various IFAE projects. Collaborate with the electronics engineering group to cover project needs. Required Skills And Evaluation Criteria Title: Electronics Engineer. Experience in multilayer PCB design: prototyping, testing and debugging. Good knowledge in analog and digital electronics. Knowledge of circuit simulation tools (PSPICE, others). Experience using ORCAD and ALLEGRO or other PCB design tools (schematic/Layout). Experience with laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, testers, etc.). Knowledge of hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog is valuable. English: High level. Ability to report results clearly. Evaluation Criteria Weights PCB design experience: 25 CADENCE (Capture/Allegro): 10 Analog/digital electronics connections: 30 Analog circuit simulation (PSPICE): 5 Problem identification and solving in designed PCBs: 20 HDL knowledge (VHDL/Verilog): 10 What will be your role? The selected candidate will be integrated into the IFAE electronics engineering group, focusing on the design of custom PCBs to meet project needs, debugging and commissioning, and assisting with testing tasks. Offered Contract Full-time contract (40 hours/week). Contracte Indefinit per la llei de la Ciència linked to the duration of the project.
