Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years' experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW. We are looking for a Storage Engineer based in Sevilla, with 2–3 years of experience to join our energy storage team in the renewable energy sector. This role will play a key part in the design, implementation, and optimization of energy storage systems, with a focus on lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities Support the design and implementation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Collaborate in the analysis of battery performance data and control systems to optimize efficiency. Coordinate the integration of storage systems with the grid and other renewable sources (solar, wind, etc.). Conduct technical studies to evaluate project feasibility and system sizing. Support in the selection of energy storage suppliers and equipment. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to improve the performance and profitability of storage systems. Requirements University degree in Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering, or similar. 2–3 years of experience in energy storage, renewables, or electrical systems. Knowledge of battery systems, inverters, and energy controllers. Familiarity with modeling and simulation software for storage systems (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst, MATLAB, Python, etc.). Experience with integrating storage systems into the electrical grid. Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and perform performance data analysis. Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards for energy storage. Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments Experience with SCADA, EMS, or Battery Management Systems (BMS). Certifications related to energy storage or electrical networks. Programming skills for data analysis (Python, SQL, etc.). What do we offer? Hybrid work model.
