We are seeking an experienced Senior Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist to join our team in Spain. As a key member of our WHS department, you will play a vital role in driving improvements on-site and at a regional level.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You will also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage programmes, collaborating with other teams and stakeholders across the company.
  • Analyse data reports using internal reporting tools to provide leadership with the information needed to make safety-related decisions.
  • Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies.
  • Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon.
  • Travel regularly within the covered region.
A Day in the Life:

This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will be instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity.

About the Team:

Workplace Health and Safety plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites, making sure we're complying with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.

Requirements:
  • Degree-level education and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specialisations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
  • Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
  • Relevant experience managing projects.
  • Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  • Relevant experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Estimated Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per year
