About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Preply, a leading online learning platform. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing ranking algorithms that power our search page, ensuring that learners find the best tutor possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop experiments to identify new opportunities for improvement in our ranking algorithms
  • Analyze data to understand the impact of our production models and inform future direction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore, test, and productionize new features used in our core ML algorithms
  • Develop and maintain data assets to support our machine learning initiatives
  • Partner with ML scientists and engineers to test new approaches and build new data assets
Requirements
  • Strong background in experimentation and causal inference
  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist working in search, ranking, or recommender systems
  • Strong Python and SQL experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Knowledge of quantitative fields (statistics, mathematics, etc.)
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques to derive meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions
