Radiology Assistant

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with various clerical tasks, preparing rooms for patients, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport patients throughout the radiology department, including to and from emergency departments or inpatient units.
• Facilitate patient preparation for examinations, including dressing patients and assisting them on and off examination tables.
• Set up rooms for examinations or procedures, maintaining a neat and safe condition to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Recognize emergent situations and respond appropriately, calling codes as needed.
• Identify orders in Epic, coordinate with technologists and radiologists when protocols are needed for examinations, and check current lab values on patients receiving contrast.
• Adhere to hospital policy on body substance isolation and demonstrate safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Answer the telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.
• Enrolled in an accredited Radiology Program.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association.
