As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for writing, debugging, maintaining, and testing our products. You will work closely with other stakeholders, including senior developers, dev managers, technical leads, analysts, testers, project managers, and product owners, to complete work on agreed timelines and with the required quality.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and build component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment, alone or with other developers I or II.
- Work on new and existing applications along with enhancements to websites, web applications, and infrastructure.
- Scope, implement, test, and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases, and utilities.
- Perform hands-on coding and assist in the design of solutions.
- Raise issues during the development cycle (running late, blockers, lack of analysis, etc.).
- Prepare reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software when asked by your managers.
- Provide documentation of user requirements, development of user stories, and estimates when requested to do so.
- Assist with providing third-level support to business users.
- Help with code reviews.
- Write design technical documents.
- Participate actively in reviews and technical design meetings and provide valuable feedback.
- Follow company policies regarding development.
- Mentor Software Developer Engineers I.
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Participate actively in planning meetings, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, and other meetings as part of the software development process.
- Update progress in our systems (i.e., move items to the right status, remaining effort, etc.).
- Learn from senior team members regarding proper application design and security.
- Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and relevant experience in software development. You should also have working knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle, expert skills in object-oriented programming concepts, unit and integration testing, data and relational databases, technical database design, web architecture, and application servers. Additionally, you should have strong ability to document development, including database design, application design, and ongoing documentation of changes and modifications.
