Special Education Needs Lead Opportunity

At Inspired Education Group, we are seeking an exceptional Special Education Needs (SEN) Co-ordinator to lead our inclusive and diverse learning environment. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and ongoing development of our Inclusion provision, ensuring all students with SEND receive the support and accommodations they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Special Educational Needs provision within the school, ensuring all students with SEND receive appropriate support and accommodations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and external agencies to facilitate collaboration and ensure the holistic well-being of students with language or learning needs.
  • Coordinate the English Language Development programme to support ELLs.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and training to classroom teachers on effective strategies for supporting students with SEND in the mainstream classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across the school.
  • Work closely with the Admissions Team to review documentation, follow up with schools and parents, and provide expertise about the best provision for students.
  • As a Safeguarding Lead, work closely with Counsellors, Pastoral leaders, Nurses, and the Head of Boarding in all matters relating to child protection.
  • Lead the 1:1 student support program for learners with more complex needs.
  • Carry out assessments of pupils to identify needs and monitor progress.
  • Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Significant experience working with students with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEND provision.
  • Fluency in English (Spanish language skills desirable).
