About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Specialist to join our Confocal Microscopy Unit at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and applying advanced AI methods for image segmentation and downstream analysis of imaging data.

Our team is focused on implementing cutting-edge fluorescence microscopy technologies to advance cancer research. We aim to integrate AI tools with our image analysis platform to facilitate data interpretation at the single-cell level and explore the integration with other biological datasets.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in deep learning and data mining with a focus on bioinformatics or biomedical applications. You will work closely with our team to develop AI models for interpreting complex biological data, extracting insights from biomedical images, and integrating bioimage analysis with other large-scale biological datasets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply advanced AI methods for image segmentation and downstream analysis of imaging data
  • Work closely with our team to integrate AI tools with our image analysis platform
  • Develop AI models for interpreting complex biological data and extracting insights from biomedical images
  • Integrate bioimage analysis with other large-scale biological datasets
  • Collaborate with our team to advance cancer research and improve patient outcomes
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD degree in Life Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Physics, Engineering, or Maths
  • Previous experience in biomedical data analysis proven by article publication
  • Proven experience in analysing bioimages using AI techniques
  • Experience with data mining techniques applied to biological data
  • Good knowledge of Python or other relevant languages and processing libraries related to 2D and 3D image analysis
  • Good understanding of software engineer and high-performance computing environments and cloud platforms
  • Good knowledge of Machine and Deep Learning frameworks
