Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in Saskatoon. As a key member of our capital project team, you will play a vital role in the execution of procurement and contracting activities, ensuring timely delivery of assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with capital project teams, contracts administrators, and site stakeholders to plan and execute procurement and contracting activities.
- Guide and advise stakeholders on procurement best practices and solutions to achieve project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop sourcing and contracting strategies for all goods and services needed to deliver assigned projects.
- Develop and initiate requests for information, quotations, and proposals, evaluating bids, completing award recommendations, contract conformance, and execution in compliance with Cameco's policies, standards, and codes.
- Consult with internal legal counsel to negotiate terms and conditions and advise stakeholders.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes with vendors and contractors.
- Coach and mentor team members on best practices and work processes.
- Bachelor's degree in commerce or engineering.
- A minimum of seven years of experience, specifically in supply chain management.
- Extensive experience in negotiating, developing, and executing large contracts for consulting services, construction, and complex equipment.
- Procurement experience supporting capital projects, applicable bidding experience in the Canadian Market, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
- Recommended: A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or another comparable designation.
- Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP System.
