Mitiga Solutions is a leading provider of climate risk management solutions, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Wildfire Modeler to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing our understanding and simulation methodologies for wildfire hazards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain robust wildfire risk models and methodologies
- Collaborate with atmospheric and climate experts to integrate the latest research findings into practical tools for fire managers and landowners
- Act as a liaison between wildfire science and technical developers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and translation of research findings into actionable solutions
- Lead or co-lead committed projects, demonstrating initiative and ownership, and actively participate in knowledge exchange with research institutions and universities
- PhD in a technical discipline or environmental science
- Deep knowledge of wildfire science and strong statistical proficiency
- Experience in catastrophe modeling (a plus)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
