About the Role:

Celonis is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Collaborative Business Execution Network (CBEN) team in Madrid. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for driving the productization of CBEN, a super exciting innovation project with a lasting impact.

The purpose of the project is to extend Celonis' process observability beyond company boundaries, allowing companies to share their data with their business partners and augment their own data. This opens up new opportunities for process improvement across value chains with multiple companies involved.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the CBEN team to execute their mission, manage the careers of team members, and foster successful group dynamics. You will ensure that the team has a manageable level of technical complexity and works collaboratively with adjacent teams.

You will jointly define goals/OKRs with other stakeholders that contribute to larger strategic efforts. Engineering Managers at this level possess the technical judgment and decision-making expected of Software Engineers at any level, often making technical contributions that have a direct impact on the team's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and grow the CBEN team in Madrid (and potentially other locations) to successfully deliver their mission.
  • Manage the performance and support the career development of engineers up to the Staff level.
  • Work closely with UX, Product Managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of impactful product features that drive customer value and shape the overall product strategy.
  • Build and maintain an engineering culture of trust, ownership, and collaboration within the CBEN team as well as the department.
  • Advocate for the team; provide upward and outward visibility of the team and their work.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in an Engineering Manager or technical leadership position leading projects and people.
  • Strong technical knowledge (5+ years of experience in software engineering is expected).
  • Experience working with Javascript or Typescript, Node.js, microservices.
  • Knowledge of cloud providers, Kubernetes, CI/CD is also highly appreciated.
  • Knowledge around Agile concepts (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery).
  • Ability to lead and make decisions to define the road ahead.
  • Ability to resolve technical conflicts when necessary, fostering a positive environment for escalations.
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves to help your team.
  • Strong communication skills (English language), allowing you to collaborate smoothly with people across the business and technical domains.
