Job Description
The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a leading centre in the field of global health, addressing challenges through research, policy translation, and education. Our research focuses on communicable and non-communicable diseases, environmental, and climate determinants, applying a multidisciplinary approach from molecular to population levels. We have five research programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases, and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. Job Requirements
ISGlobal is seeking a bioinformatician to manage activities of the PREDIMED-Plus RCT during 3 months. The project aims to assess the association between environmental exposures and body composition in adults with overweight/obesity and metabolic syndrome from the PREDIMED-Plus RCT. The successful candidate will have experience in managing projects, working with large datasets, and applying statistical analysis techniques. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. The selected candidate will work closely with the research team, contributing to the development of the study, data analysis, and results interpretation. The main goal is to identify the potential role of external exposome factors in the intervention effects over PREDIMED-Plus participants.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the project database, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the research team to develop the study design, data analysis, and results interpretation.
- Conduct statistical analysis and data visualization using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure data security and confidentiality, adhering to ISGlobal's data protection policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience in managing projects, working with large datasets, and applying statistical analysis techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL.
