About the Role:

The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and technical systems on our fleet of buses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, including engine and transmission problems
  • Use computer-based diagnostic tools to isolate equipment issues
  • Repair and replace components such as steering systems, suspensions, and air rides
  • Mentor and assist Utility Mechanics in handling more advanced repairs
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T6
  • Passing score on the Mechanic C Qualification Test

Working Conditions:

Shifts may vary and can include weekends. Requires frequent physical effort, including standing, crawling, and reaching overhead.
