Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer, Device OS

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Device OS team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions for our devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery, and support of Device OS security and privacy.
  • Be responsible for the architecture and design of software solutions, especially in the area of device security & privacy, determining current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selecting new concepts and methodologies, and developing key routines and utilities.
  • Dive deep into a difficult problem, identify the root cause, and provide an appropriate solution.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of ARM CPUs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience writing low-level drivers.
