Job Title/Location:

Solera is a global leader in data and software services that strives to transform every touchpoint of the vehicle lifecycle into a connected digital experience.

We are seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test to lead the design, development, and delivery of automation test frameworks for our next generation software platform.

The successful candidate will provide technical automation leadership as part of the Software QA Team and is accountable for all aspects of the QA process.

This position requires solid experience testing N-Tier application services and data platform within an Agile development environment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience in full development lifecycle, including code standards/reviews, source control processes, building and testing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, document, and maintain tools, test cases, and automation design for current and next gen software platforms.
  2. Team with Product Management, SW Engineering, DevOps, and other technical teams in release planning and coordination.
  3. Interpret functional requirements and designs to plan, develop, write, execute, and automate functional and data validation test plans.
  4. Work with engineering and infrastructure teams on strategy and maintenance for required TDD/CI/CD development and QA environments.
  5. Provide feedback and influence into the design process to help us build a testable platform, applications, and data models.
  6. Design and build quality, performance, and reliability in from day one.
  7. Drive effective technical execution and communication as a member of Agile scrum teams.
  8. Document and communicate module and automation framework functions, interfaces, performance criteria, test cases, and results to diverse audiences.
  9. Estimate effort, schedule, and develop tasks according to agreed scope and development milestones to meet overall project timelines.
  10. Conduct defect management activities to include problem identification, issue research, analysis, and documentation.
  11. Work closely with the development team for unit-test reviews, issue diagnosis, resolution, and closure.
  12. Lead or assist in data analysis to determine data health and consistency, or root cause of issues.
  13. Lead the technical vision of the product assigned to.
  14. Train engineers on new tools, methodologies, and technologies.
  15. Mentor engineers and help foster their personal and professional growth.
  16. Identify areas of improvements and drive/implement solutions to drive efficiency and quality.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or 10 years of technical experience as an SDE/T or similar role.
  2. 8+ years of applied professional experience in an object-oriented programming language.
  3. Knowledge of and experience in full development lifecycle, including code standards/reviews, source control processes, building and testing.
  4. Experience developing and testing in C# or Java.
  5. Experience developing tests through Appium and Selenium libraries.
  6. Experience designing and implementing mobile applications for iOS and Android.
  7. Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling test automation frameworks with a focus on extensibility, scalability, maintainability, and high performance.
  8. Strong experience in developing and implementing End to End test strategies.
  9. Prior work experience in and understanding of Agile.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively across all levels.
  11. Ability to take a proactive, problem-solving/trouble-shooting approach to identifying and solving problems.
Nice to have:

Experience implementing software test automation into CI/CD process (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux OS).

Experience with microservice architecture.

Experience with Backend testing (API testing).

Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
