Offshore Wind Foundation Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic procurement leader to manage complex, high-value contracts and global supply chains in a technically demanding environment.
This position plays a key role in developing and executing procurement strategies for the foundation package of offshore wind projects. While experience in this area is preferred, candidates with relevant procurement expertise in other offshore wind packages (e.g., cables, substations, wind turbines, transport & installation) will also be considered valuable.
Fully remote work opportunities exist, with occasional travel required for supplier engagement, site visits, and project meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement Leadership :
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for offshore wind foundation packages.
- Lead end-to-end tendering processes, including RFI / RFP development, bid evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract awards.
- Drive competitive procurement aligned with technical specifications, risk profiles, and project milestones.
Contract and Risk Management :
- Negotiate and administer high-value contracts with global suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate key commercial and contractual risks.
- Collaborate with legal, project, and engineering teams to resolve claims and change orders.
Supplier and Market Engagement :
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 foundation suppliers and critical subcontractors.
- Monitor global fabrication capacity, steel pricing, and logistics trends affecting offshore wind supply chains.
- Evaluate supplier performance, capacity, ESG compliance, and financial health.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with engineering, construction, transport & installation, legal, and finance teams.
- Provide commercial input into foundation design, fabrication sequencing, and installation strategies.
Languages :
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
Professional Experience :
- 8+ years of procurement or commercial experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or major infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement of foundation packages is strongly preferred.
- Experience in other offshore wind packages (e.g., electrical systems, WTGs, cables, transport & installation) will also be considered valuable.
- Familiarity with complex fabrication processes, international contracting, and offshore logistics is essential.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
- Expertise in procurement of foundation packages for offshore wind projects is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and risk analysis skills.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, LOGIC, or equivalent contract forms.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and procurement planning tools.
Additional Information
- The selected candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy.
- They will be responsible for managing complex contracts and supply chains while ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Frequent travel may be required for supplier engagement and project meetings.
