Job Overview

The Application Support Specialist is responsible for identifying the most effective solutions for system-related challenges and providing essential support during both the maintenance and implementation stages of client accounts. This role ensures optimal system functionality through regular checks and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the general responsibilities expected of all Alight employees, the specific duties for this position include:

Implementation Duties:

  • Assist in estimating the development of custom system requirements as requested by clients.
  • Analyze project team questionnaires and configure them within the Payroll Exchange system.
  • Collaborate with the Products team to troubleshoot issues and propose new functionalities based on client needs.
  • Ensure adherence to Payroll Exchange standards.
  • Adapt and parameterize system solutions based on gathered requirements.
  • Conduct testing across various project phases as necessary.
  • Resolve medium complexity issues related to the application’s functional environment.
  • Complete solutions with newly identified requirements during the gathering process.
  • Oversee the proper implementation of solutions across different environments (Development, Test, and Production).
  • Monitor data migration processes, ensuring compliance with established controls.

Maintenance and Support Duties:

  • Address medium complexity issues within the application’s functional environment.
  • Test system fixes to confirm operational effectiveness.
  • Provide client support for application functionality inquiries.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks on the system.
  • Resolve straightforward and medium complexity issues using functional knowledge of system parameters and relevant legislation.
  • Perform unit testing of parameterization results in a controlled testing environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of solution documents and technical specifications at both client and standard levels.

Qualifications

In addition to the common skills expected of all Alight employees, the specific qualifications for this position include:

  • Knowledge of HR pre-, post-, and payroll processing.
  • Functional understanding of HR concepts and technologies, including SAP HCM, Peoplesoft, euHReka, Workday, and SuccessFactors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with data migration processes.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as:
    • WebMethods 9.2 - ESB
    • SQL
    • XSLT
    • Java
    • Ruby on Rails
    • MongoDB
    • JavaScript
    • Webservices (WSDL, REST)
  • Knowledge of integration technologies like SAP XI/PI is advantageous but not mandatory.

Following the completion of this transaction, this role will be associated with the new Payroll & Professional Services entity owned by HIG Capital.
