The European Space Agency is seeking a highly skilled Archive Scientist to join its team in the Department of Science Operations. As an Archive Scientist, you will be responsible for the definition and specification of the scientific archive for ESA heliophysics missions and for the follow-up and monitoring of its implementation and operation.

You will work closely with the heliophysics mission project scientists, other mission archives scientists, and the ESDC Software and Data Systems Architect to provide scientific support and steer the development and operations of the archives. Your responsibilities will include interfacing with project scientists and stakeholders, providing user requirements documents, monitoring implementation and testing, and performing end-user acceptance testing.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will be required to actively pursue personal scientific research, publishing articles using archival data, and participate in the Department's research activities.

Key qualifications for this role include a PhD in heliophysics, experience in science operations and data management, and broad knowledge of scientific disciplines. Experience in coordinating the scientific community and managing multiple interfaces at an international level is also highly desirable.
