The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer at The Workshop, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications using Agile methodologies. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the full-cycle software engineering process, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Focus on quality by developing and implementing testing strategies, ensuring code quality and maintainability, and addressing technical debt.
- Deliver backlog items and ensure that the code is cleaner than when you started.
- Participate in the CI/CD approach and collaborate with Product Owners, Software Engineers, Architecture Team members, and Quality Engineers.
- Engage in code reviews, retrospectives, and team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
- Strong back-end skills, including multithreading and object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of web-based applications, including HTTP protocol, web servers, caching, and more.
- Good testing practices, including unit, component, and end-to-end testing.
- Proactive approach to learning and gathering feedback.
- Interest in software design principles, quality code, testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate in an open and honest way.
- Adaptability to change and uncertainty with minimal stress.
Technical Skills
- Java, latest version.
- Web development, including JavaScript and Angular.
- Web services, including REST.
- Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or Quarkus.
- Build tools, including Maven, NPM, and Webpack.
- Version control systems, including Git.
- Testing frameworks, including JUnit, Jasmine, JBehave, and Selenium.
- Messaging, including RabbitMQ and/or Kafka.
- Concurrent programming and threading.
