Position Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and results-driven Accounting Specialist to enhance our finance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate execution of corporate accounting functions, including transactions, entries, reporting, and maintenance for VW Credit and its subsidiaries. All tasks must comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the VW Group Accounting Handbook, facilitating year-end financial processes and meeting both internal and external audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Preparation:

  • Generate monthly financial statements for VCI and subsidiaries in accordance with IFRS, overseeing related month-end activities.
  • Compile monthly consolidated financial statements and disclosures for submission to headquarters as per IFRS guidelines.
  • Provide monthly financial reporting concerning impairment for the Risk Department.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations, addressing and resolving outstanding issues with other departments.
  • Prepare year-end statutory financial statements, including footnotes and disclosures.

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze monthly performance and significant variances, providing insights to headquarters for inquiries.
  • Implement new accounting standards as applicable.
  • Review financial statements, report variances, and resolve outstanding issues collaboratively with other departments.
  • Identify major deviations from budget/forecast in partnership with the Controlling Department.

Support and Development:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial control procedures for reporting under IFRS guidelines.
  • Support internal and external audits regarding control testing, account verifications, and related projects.
  • Collaborate with the manager and team members on various ad hoc projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Recommend, develop, and maintain the general ledger chart of accounts and cost centers to ensure proper transaction disclosure.
  • Propose enhancements to processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in financial analysis, reporting, or services.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

General Skills:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and apply new knowledge.

  • Demonstrated assertiveness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word, with advanced Excel skills including database concepts, PIVOT tables, and various functions.

Specialized Skills:

  • Knowledge of captive insurance accounting and relevant regulations is required.
  • Experience with accounting for Vehicle Service Contracts and related products is preferred.
  • Understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles in a multi-entity environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in developing accounting policies and understanding internal controls and business processes.

Work Flexibility:

  • Minimal travel (approximately 5%) may be required.
  • Long hours may be necessary during month/quarter/year-end closing and while preparing annual financial statements.
