Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Production Artificial Intelligence - Advanced Data Analytics team at BASF. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative solutions for multiple application areas within Production.

Responsibilities

  • Support AI projects from ideation to commissioning and provide ongoing support during runtime.
  • Identify needs of internal colleagues and translate them into software specifications, manage, and drive development.
  • Develop new concepts, models, and solutions applying state-of-the-art data science concepts and work with cutting-edge frameworks and technologies.
  • Upscale and manage services globally, including Condition Monitoring, Computer Vision, and Generative AI.
  • Manage service adjustments smoothly in case of software and solution updates, as well as the expectations of business partners for running, maintaining, and reviewing services.

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, or information technology with a focus on data-driven applications.
  • Working knowledge in the development of complex data science software solutions, preferably cloud-based applications.
  • Good knowledge in machine learning with Python and (graph-)databases, and experience in building solutions with cloud technology (Microsoft Azure).
  • Familiarity with technologies around Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics to process sensor/time-series data.
  • Experience in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts.
