Mission
As a Chief Product Quality and System Reliability Officer, your main mission will be to be responsible for all aspects of the Product Quality and System Reliability as well as the development and management of teams and providing support and guidance on the manufacturing and assembly of our launch vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and manufacturing teams through product development and production to create quality plans for building and manufacturing, including all prototypes for testing.
- Review and report on the manufacturability of our products, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Develop, implement, and validate product and processes through tests and inspections to ensure quality and criteria are consistently met.
- Design and conduct build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved and well-communicated.
- Identify opportunities for risk reduction and removal of complexity in designs, collaborating with different teams to find simple solutions.
- Record and investigate failures in production, test, and flight, identifying and mitigating the immediate and underlying root causes to reduce risk and improve reliability of designs and processes.
- Contain suspect or known non-conforming product, providing guidance to quality inspectors, technicians, team leaders, and engineers to assist in quarantining and rework activities.
- Support the plant floor in continuous improvement and the advancement of the creation of a Lean, autonomous production system.
- Establish and create standard rework/repair guides, removal of redundant or unnecessary processes, and improve control and optimization of critical processes.
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or other related fields.
- 10+ years in a manufacturing, quality, and/or design engineering role.
- Experience with troubleshooting.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries and take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes.
- Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills.
