The ICTAN-CSIC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD researcher to join our team in the field of thermal characterization of 2D materials. The project, funded by the ERC council, aims to develop novel thermal modulators based on 2D MXene materials for nearly isothermal battery operation.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented researcher with a strong background in thermal characterization, particularly in 2D materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Characterizing the electronic properties of 2D materials using advanced techniques
- Developing and implementing thermal characterization methods, such as Time Domain Thermo-Reflectance, Scanning Thermal Microscopy, and thermal Bridge method
- Collaborating with the research group to achieve project objectives
To be considered for this position, the candidate should have:
- A Master's degree in Physics or Thermal Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of thermal transport, ideally at nano-and micro-scale
- Experience with experimental laboratory, especially in thermal characterization techniques
- Critical and creative approach to research, as well as sharp analytical skills
- Pro-active and result-oriented team worker in an academic environment
- Capability to solve problems independently, but also be able to work with interdisciplinary teams
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to organize research with both academics and professionals
- Good communication (verbal and writing) skills in English
